Tech Studio! Learn - create - make @FPL

TEEN TECH CAMP

Build your skills and explore digital and tech applications while having fun! Each week a different focus to learn and create using technology. To register for a week, call 810-249-2569 (Age 12+)

Week One: July 10, 11 & 12, 2:00 – 5:00pm

Green Screen Effects

Explore video editing and create special effects using “green screen” technology.

Week Two: July 17, 18 & 19, 2:00 – 5:00pm

3D Printing Design

Take 3D design to a whole new level combining circuits and 3D printed pieces.

Week Three: July 24, 25 & 26, 2:00 – 5:00pm

App Design

Learn the basics of designing and coding your own app.

Week Four: July 31, August 1 & 2, 2:00 – 5:00pm

Music Production

Bangtown Productions’s Studio on the Go will be here to teach the basics of writing, recording and producing music.

Teen/Tween Writers Workshop

Tuesday – Thursday, June 19-21 & 26 – 28, 4:00 – 6:00pm

Ages 12 – 17 Writers, aged 11-17, join us for two weeks of writing activities! Learn about literature, publishing, critiquing and share your work with teen peers! Facilitator is Connor Coyne.

June 30, 3:00pm Cartooning Learn the basics of drawing cartoons by throwing basic shapes and curved lines together in this step by step instructional class with Flint Comix’s Randy Zimmerman. No Prior Experience Required
July 7, 3:00pm Laugh Out Loud Improv Are you a fan of Whose Line is it Anyway? Then you’ll love this hilarious and entertaining workshop featuring improvisational games and skits with Karen Bonnici. No Prior Experience Required.
July 14, 3:00pm Songwriting Basics for Teens Learn the basics of songwriting, share completed lyrics or poems, and even collaborate on writing a song together with Rick Kelley. No Prior Experience Required.
July 21, 3:00pm Sand Sculpting Learn the art of sand sculpting with Spencer Scharf on the Library Lawn. Supplies provided.
July 28, 3:00pm Nerf Games Run, dodge, and dive to outwit and out blast the competition. Library lawn, limited to 50 participants.
August 4, 3:00pm Paint Wars Run an obstacle course in teams, practice your aim at target practice, and throw paint balloons at other competitors! Wear clothing that can get messy. Library lawn, limited to 30 participants.
August 15 – 16, 2:00 – 4:00pm Babysitters Academy Ages 12 – 17 – Teens can brush up on their babysitting skills and earn a Red Cross CPR & First Aid Certificate. Participants must attend both days to earn their certificate.
