Celebrating Black History Month

Every February, people in the United States celebrate the achievements and history of African Americans as part of Black History Month.  Flint Public Library is pleased to offer programs that will help our...   community understand and appreciate contributions of all African Americans, including some of our Flint natives.  You can find more details about these events on our calendar.  

·         African American Art Legacy & Literacy Class (Wednesday, February 1, 4:00-6:00pm).  Seating is limited – please register online here.  

·         The Greater Flint African American Sports Hall of Fame will announce this year’s inductees in a ceremony at the Library. (Tuesday, February 7, 5:00pm)

·         Author Bob Campbell will share readings from and discussions about his book, “Motown Man.” (Thursday, February 9, 12:00-1:00pm)

·         We welcome author Orezime Uyeh to help us celebrate International Day of Women & Girls in Science as she reads from her children’s book, “Girls In Medicine.” (Saturday, February 11, 1:00-2:00pm)
