The Adult Summer Reading Challenge has started and it’s not just about reading! There are also several fun events for adults planned at the Gloria Coles Flint Public Library.
Do you like music and ice cream? Then join us on Tuesday, July 11 at 6PM for the Genesee Valley Concert Band and Ice Cream Social, an annual summer tradition.
On Thursday, July 20 at 6PM, we welcome local author and Pick Your Potions mixologist Lindsay Merbaum, who crafts mocktails inspired by the moods and themes of books. What could be more refreshing than reading a book while sipping a delicious literary concoction?
The Evening Readers Book Club meets July 13 at 6:30 PM to discuss the TikTok viral sensation The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Does it live up to the hype? Let’s discuss!
The Library’s newest book club meets on July 21 and August 18 at 10AM. The Silent Book Club is for adults and teens who want to join a book club but don’t want to be told what to read or participate in a mandatory discussion! It’s a great opportunity to carve out time in your busy schedule to read communally in quiet camaraderie!
We look forward to seeing you at one (or all) of these events! Happy reading!
